Challenge

I just saw this challenge.  I only had an hour to submit a project so I had to KISS (keep it simple scrapper). lol
This is the Beary Sweet Tic-tac-toe challenge.  I used distressing, charm and buttons.

This stamped image was received just today in a swap.  I love all the sewing notions.
  • edges distressed with crushed olive and center with tattered rose TH distress ink
  • buttons are placed on top of images of buttons
  • the measuring tape is highlighted with stickles (glitter)
  • there is a charm dangling from the tag
  • the edges of the background glitter paper are distressed also (roughed up with scissors)
  • thread is highlighted with enamel accents...I originally used wire...but I dropped it on the floor...no time to look for it lol

I love dress forms and this tag was quickly done, yet fun to make

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

30 minute challenges

So I did another Friday night Chat Challenge on the SOC .ning site (Scraps of Color).  This time I thought of the walking back and forth from the office to the craft room as exercise.  I can feel my curves coming already(LOL).  I still NEED a laptop or to move my office into my craft room.  Right! like I have room for that. lol

30 minute challenge #1: make a Christmas tag, use a cut out and some bling:

Materials:
White card stock cuddle bug dot embossing folder
snowflake stamp
snowflake gems
snowflake cut out (punch I used at a crop a while ago)
stickles
ribbon from stash
colorbox chalk ink
sentiment: Peace on Earth

30 minute challenge #2: make a card front
 use cutout, embossing, and ribbon.

Materials:
2 embossing folders
cricut gut out"my guy"
ribbon from stash
stickles
colorbox chalk ink
sentiment:  My guy Rocks (refers to my dog, Dugan)

30 minute challenge #3: make a fall card use ribbon.

Materials:
kraft card stock
hand drawn pumpkin
stickles
shimmer letters
ribbon from stash orange bling
sentiment: Hey Punkin'

(I added the bow the next day after the stickles dried- I actually forgot the ribbon on the initial post. Ahhhh the drawbacks of having the instructions in another room from where you are crafting lol)

Once again I had fun chatting with the ladies and creating under a time limit.  Not masterpieces, but still fun projects.
May God bless and keep all the people in the path of Hurricane Irene.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Thursday

Tag on Tag Challenge

I used all scraps for this tag.  And of course I am using it for my dog Dugan.  I plan to track his flea treatments on the back of the tag.  This project was for the challenge at the Stampin Dymonz Creative Space blog. Check it out, there was a sketch.

I may add a sentiment on the flower pot or the inside of the tag.  Hmmmmmm.

I drew polka dots on the flower to cover up an ink blotch.  No mistakes in scrapbooking...lol

There is a picture of Dugan playing with his stuffed rabbit on a tag inside the file folder.  The mini tags on the other side spell out his name.  The pockets for the mini tags were created by floral ribbon and staples.  I can write something funny about Dugan on each tag.

The back of the tag has journaling about his love for that stuffed rabbit.

Materials:
ribbons and fibers from stash
flower punch, flower pot, file folder ( I collected from the trash can at a crop my friend Diane was hosting)
seed beads(the center of the flower)
Kraft card stock scraps
DCWV striped paper scraps
foam tape
photo corners
fiskars mini tag punch
glimmer spray
journaling stamp
blue staples

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Wednesday

ATC Swap

These are some ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) that I made for a swap.  The theme was represent your state.  Delaware's state bird is the blue hen.  So, I drew a fightin' blue hen...ok so it is a chicken on crack (LOL)
DE state colors are blue and gold
Background Says: The Small Wonder
Home of the Fightin' Blue Hens
The Diamond State
The First State

The word Diamond is glitter highlighted and the background embossed with diamonds...did I take the Diamond theme a bit too far? hahahaha

The image was cut out in a diamond shape to signify the state nickname the 'Diamond State.'  The background also says Dela-Where? because people often ask "...where is DE, what state is that in..." LOL
Recipe:
card stock white, yellow and backed with blue
colorbox blue ink
chalk: yellow and blue
walnut stain ink
feathers
blue bling
Diamond in the rough cuddle bug embossing folder
pop dots
                                                                                     glossy accents
                                                                                     gold glitter gel pen
                                                                                     nestabilities

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Saturday

30 minute challenges

On the Scraps Of Color .ning network there is a Friday night chat.  The chat is always open and I have met some great online friends there.  A while ago instead of just chatting on Friday nights there was a paper crafting challenge issued.  So, now during the chat time the hostess will issue about 3 30 minute challenges.  It can get pretty wild and the ladies come up with some great ideas which they post in the gallery.  I usually do not participate in the challenges because my computer is a desktop located in a separate office from where my craft room is located.  I am a great cheerleader though (LOL)
I had brought some crafts in my office to just do some cutting and gluing while I was chatting.  The first challenge was to use scraps...I had scraps right in front of me.  So, I said why not.  I was sure that I couldn't finish in 30 minutes, but I hauled my scrap bag and supplies back into the craft room.  I couldn't chat and craft, but I still had fun.

Here is what I came up with in 30 minutes (including taking the pic and posting).  Whew just made it!

Challenge #1 - Use 4 pieces of scraps and make strips. One must be a solid color. Use a plain card as a backing. Add a sentiment and embellish as you like.

Then I pushed it and did the third challenge also.(lol)
Challenge #3 Make a tag using a mask to decorate it. Must have at least one mask item, a small sentiment and some ribbon or yarns

My poor little dog was following me as I moved from office to craft room over and over again (lol)  I felt so sorry for him because he looked so sleepy.  And as soon as he got settled I had to go to the other room.  He got several treats for being such a good sport.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Monday

Altered CD Album

Here is a mini album I did to hold pictures of my dog, Dugan.  I used old cd's.  Punched the holes with the crop-a-dile, adhered the paper with Yes glue, sanded the edges with my TH sander that I got in a RAK
(Thanks Chanequa!).  It is bound with a ring and I used ribbons and fibers to cover the ring.

Sentiments:Dugan, dugan, silly, smart & cute

Sentiments: It was love at first sight,
baby man, my guy, cute

one side is white based pp...

...the other side is black based pp

Finished Mini Album!
Sentiment: It was (heart) at first sight.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Friday

What is in your scrap bag?

The question was posed on a blog, what is in your scrap bag? I keep my bag packed at all times. I use it for crops and I keep it on the floor by my work desk in the craft room.  I take it to whatever room I am working in (lol) I work in EVERY room of the house.  Ahhhh the joys and freedoms of being single.

The bag contains:
Various types of glue: glue dots, glue pens, wet glue, tape runners, sticker maker, score tape, cheetah and refills.  Stamp scrubber and cleaner spray, foam mat for stamping, brayer, stamping block, bone folder, paper piercer, exacto knife, embossing stylus, rub on stick, regular eraser, chalk eraser, ruler, nail file, Sand paper pad, paper stumps, gamsol (odorless mineral spirits), 4 sets of pens and markers(prismas, sakura, At You Spica, walnut hallow oil pencils); Crystal light container of pens and pencils, corner rounder, crop-a-dile, Three types of scissors and a empty compartment for ink pads, foam daubers and other miscellaneous items specific to the project. I lay my ATG gun on top if I need to carry it with me.

When I go to crops I carry this bag and one other craft bag. That's it!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Dress Form Swap

These are layered die cuts I did for a dress form swap that I entered.

The base is glittered paper.

The images were cut from the Summer in Paris Cricut Cart.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Thursday

Zen-doodle card

I stumbled across a challenge.  See the details of the challenge on the Stampin Dymonz Creative Place blog
The card had to be Zen tangled on the front and back.  The pens soaked through the paper, so I lined the inside with a second 4.25 x 5.5 piece of white card stock.  The lady is a stamp by rubbernecker.
I wanted to add a little color...

The criteria of the challenge also required  a Zen tangled border on the inside.  I will probably stamp a sentiment later.

Thanks for stopping by.  Visit again soon.

Tuesday

I have been looking for something like this...

$1.00 thrift store find (I am not sure what this is...it is some sort of holder: VHS, cassettes...)

...but it now holds many ink pads.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come back soon.

Monday

Another Thrift store find

$1.00 wine rack from the thrift store

$1.75 spray paint (3 coats)

Pen storage PRICELESS!
Materials:
6 wide mouth quart size canning jars
black electrical tape used to create a hammock to support each jar
Styrofoam circles used in bottom of jar to accommodate shorter pens
thin chipboard circle to cover the Styrofoam
white duct tape to cover the base of the jars with the Styrofoam
Plastic cap feet (I couldn't find white in the correct size-gray works too)

This was a fun project.  I just love finding old stuff and re-purposing the item.  What a bargain!

Thanks for looking.  I hope you come back soon.
