Fairy flower

OH MY...these are so stinkin' cute.  I watched my fellow artie, ArteDar do a USTREAM Show.  Her niece, Leslie did a tutorial for these fairy flowers.  Leslie has so many styles and they are so cute. I made this one along with the show.

I added some tulle to my skirt since my flower was so shallow.  I didn't have any leaves on my flower so I used felt for the wings.  This was a fun project.  I may add some more to her: stickles on the wings, a wand and a crown.  Then she will be all set to hang up lol.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Waterfall Card

I had some supplies in my office(not the same location as my craft room).  They were scraps from another project.  I was feeling like crafting, but unable to tear myself away from the computer- a regular occurrence lately LOL.  I visited one of the .ning sites where I am a member.  My online scrap friend Karen had made a waterfall card.  So, I decided to give it a try.  I didn't have stamps or any of the supplies that would have made this card more...more...whatever (LOL)  I just wanted to try the construction.  This is what I came up with:

Mini file folder tag album

So I had scraps left over from cutting down 12 x 12 file folders to standard size.  I made this tag album which I learned from Inkwell's (Dede) USTREAM show.

each tag it tied with fibers/fabric. The cover is fabric
ribbon binding with beads and shells

closure with elastic and button

each file folder has four pockets and flips out.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you come again soon.

Saturday

collaged tags

I made these tags for a mini album.  In addition to paper or fabric I am attempting to use paint on my collage pieces.  I plan to keep practicing.

I used scrap pieces of paper, washi tape, (red, black, silver and white) acrylic paint.  I tied scrap fibers and fabric onto each tag (that will be shown in the next post- with the finished tag album).

Also entered in the SOC sistah/brotha blogger's challenge #7.   It is a color challenge.

Box Portfolio

This is a way to organize and store all that ephemera that I have collected.  I watch INKWELL (Dede) on USTREAM and this is her project for the year.  She calls it the alphabetica box. Each week Dede gives 2 suggestions for what to label the file folders like 'birds' or 'doors' or 'maps'.  The goal is to personalize the box and make it your own.  She collages each folder and has shown this method on many shows.  Still I hesitated- see when I first learned to collage and decoupage we never used paint- we just glued on paper, napkins or fabric.  Dede makes using paint look so easy.  Every time I try I get mud (LOL).  So, for the sake of catching up and to stop staring at an empty box I just cut down some already decorated 12 x 12 folders from my stash.  I decided to just stamp and hand write the labels on the plain manila folders,  Here is my box portfolio.

The portfolio is a recycled large flat rate shipping box decorated with book pages, alphabet stamps, colorbox ink, duct tape, and tulle.

Here are my folders and dividers so far.
